Doug practiced law in the courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia until returning to his native Knoxville and joining the firm in 1992. He is licensed to practice in all courts in Tennessee, and is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, the Knoxville Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. Doug practices in the areas of personal injury, worker's compensation, Social Security law, nursing home abuse/neglect, defective products and medical malpractice.
